Trunk Groups

Purpose

The Trunk Groups form is used to gather outgoing trunks into groups for the Automatic Route Selection forms. Use this form when performing the following tasks:

NOTE: Trunk groups are not supported on the EX platform. The ESM form Trunk Groups is not available in the System Administration tool for the EX platform. There are no physical channels programmed for any digital or analog trunks on the EX platform.

Trunk Group Number

A number up to three digits in length which is used in the ARS Routes form.

Hunt Mode

Either "Terminal" for terminal hunting or "Circular" for circular hunting. Voice mail trunks in a hunt group must be programmed for "Circular" hunting.

NOTE: To optimize CPU usage, Mitel recommends Circular hunting for large or high traffic trunk groups.

Terminal

Trunk Group Busy RAD

The directory number from the ONS/OPS Circuit Descriptors form corresponding to the Trunk Group Busy RAD. The MITEL Call Distribution feature must be installed in order to program the Trunk Group Busy RAD.

Maximum Network Hop

The number of hops from 1 to 26 that a DPNSS call will be permitted between systems. This field may not be programmed for routes involving analog trunks.

Comments

A meaningful name (up to 15 characters) to describe the Trunk Group created.

Member

System-generated, protected field. Indicates the number of members in the trunk group.

 

Trunk Number

The Trunk Number of each trunk to be included in the Trunk Group. Trunk Numbers are assigned to trunks in the Analog Trunks and Digital Trunks form. List the trunks in the order in which hunting is to take place. Trunks may appear in more than one trunk group. DID trunks and E&M Trunks used as pagers are not allowed in trunk groups.

The maximum number of trunks per trunk group must not exceed the "Trunks per Group" of 175.
